When starting an Australian project, you should first fill in all known information to do with the project at the ‘Project Data’ section. This will default the related fields every time you save a member saving you time. It’ll also assist in finding projects and ensuring you meet the standards.
To do this for basic and advanced users:
- Ensure the correct country is selected
- Add a Job Number
- Enter a Job Description
- Set the Wind Loads (this is determined based on your regions wind loads set in the AS:1684)
- Select correct option among the ‘Project Loads’ list
- Note: Numbers in brackets represent kg/m2
- Note BV means Brick Veneer, PB means Plasterboard, FC means Fiber Cement and WB means Weather Boards
- Note: Items with the same description but different weights are due to 70mm vs 90mm framing
- If applicable, select the checkbox “Building in coastal North QLD north of LAT 25deg, or elsewhere north of LAT 16deg”
To do this for Estimator/Detailer & Engineer Access users:
- Select General Structural Timber Design for applicable builds that fall in categories 2-9, or class 1 and 10 buildings that exceed the limitations of AS:1684
- If “General Structural Timber Design” has been selected, you can use the calculate wind load function.
- Set Snow Load
